Memories of the Modern-Day Cuba
As a photographer you are always hoping to find a beautiful quality of light and once you find it you try to take as much as possible from it. I felt so inspired to take these photographs while being in Cuba last November. You can find a text and some more pictures of the project here . These were taken in an old house in Havana, it was built in the 1940s. Because of the hot weather old houses were built with lots of doors and windows there. And of course the light change dramatically from one time of the day to another. There is also a lot of breeze coming inside through the glassless windows. The light is straight and strong because it is a tropical country but walls act as diffusers and corners of the rooms where light is not full make the perfect place to take a photograph. These rooms worked as huge boxes of light for me and I was able to change the light only by closing or opening doors and finding a good combination.
